Kamennaya baba (Stone baba)

Kamennaya baba (in the Altai language ‘baba’ means ancestor), or kezer tash (stone soldier) is one of just a few sculptures preserved in the Altai from the Turkic times. It’s situated on the right bank of the Aylagush River on the park territory. The oblong stone has a shape of a man holding a bowl in his hands – a symbol of spirit, wisdom and immortality. The sculpture overlooks the East to meet the rising sun. The age of such stone soldiers ranges approximately from 6000 to 8000 years.
